This cherished initiative, spearheaded by San Rafael’s Adrienne Biggs, cultivates community spirit by inviting residents to hunt for specially decorated biodegradable “mushrooms” around Gerstle Park.
This free family-friendly event embodies the essence of local connection, gathering neighbors for fresh air and companionship while honoring the wonders of nature. Adrienne’s initiative started during the pandemic, evolved into a beloved annual tradition, and expanded its reach, with over 400 faux mushrooms expected to be scattered this year. Each mushroom is hand-painted and carries a charm of creativity, reflecting the artistic spirit of the community.
